Founded in 1978, the group has over 800 National Trust members and volunteers.
They arrange talks, outings, walks and social events for our members,
as well as raising money for national trust projects. |

Formed in 1989, the Society runs events, guided tours, publishes local
history books and pamphlets, and is the custodian of a large archive of
material relating to the Borough providing a unique source of material
for the family history researcher, or anyone interested in the buildings,
industries and heritage of the area. |
